Back From the Dead

It's been a long time since I posted here, but I'm going to attempt to resurrect this blog. I'm going to be joining the
Sock a Month Knit-along4 http://samkal4.blogspot.com/ and I wanted to have a place to post my progress. If anyone bothers to read this, I would love to hear from you.

Now if I could just remember how to link the SAM KAL4 button back to the website, I would be in good shape.

Crenellated Toe-Up Socks

Crenellated Toe Up Socks Posted by Hello

The idea for these socks came from the book Cool Socks Warm Feet by Lucy Neatby. I did change it a little bit. I did a garter stitch toe and did a short row heel. This was my first attempt at a short row heel. For my first try, I think I did a fair job. I know I'll get better with practice. I made a little wider cuff than was in the book. The yarn is Fortissima Colori.

Christine's Trekking Socks

Trekking Sock Posted by Hello
These are socks I made for Christine,as part of her Christmas gift, along with the beer cozies. They are made with Trekking XXL sock yarn. I love this yarn. The picture in not the best quality. I think I need to play with the settings a little to see if I can get better pictures. I'm not real pleased with the way they turned out. I hope they look better on Christine than they do in the picture. Below is a close up of the cuff lace pattern. The close up shows a more accurate view of the color, but not exactly and doesn't show how nice the lace pattern is.

Holiday Cheer!

Beer Cozies Posted by Hello
These are some beer cozies I made for Christine for Christmas using Karrie's pattern I found at "Knit This". Christine is a beer drinker and occasionally makes her own beer. These were made for fun and probably won't be used more than once, but I thought the idea was cute. They are made with Red Heart yarn. I don't drink beer, so, the cozies are photographed on soda bottles.

Below is a close up of the cable stitch I put in.

Hawaii Beaded Socks

Hawaii Socks Posted by Hello

Here is my latest sock knitting project. These are knit with Lorna's Laces yarn in colorway Hawaii Every fourth row, I added a bead in the center of the pattern. The pattern is called "Socks for Sarah" from the 2004 Sock Knitting Challenge book from The Knitting Zone and I used Queen Kahuna's Crazy Toes and Heels, cuff down technique with a slip stitch heel knitting two socks at a time on circular needles.

Below is a close up of the sock cuff. It's a little difficult to see the beads. Depending on what color the yarn behind each bead is, the bead either look green or purple.
